There has been a flock of 12 to 14 buff-breasted sandpipers hanging around the
south west corner of the the junction of the 15th Sideroad and the 11th
Concession for the last 3 or 4 days. I saw 8 there this morning around 11:00.
Also present were semipalmated plovers, black-bellied plovers, and an elusive
baird’s sandpiper, which I did not see today. An upland sandpiper was also
present yesterday, but not today.

From Hwy 400 take Hwy 88 west to Bond Head. Turn north on Hwy 27 at Bond Head.
At the next lights turn left onto the Beeton Road. After approximately 5 km
turn north (right) onto the 15th sideroad. Proceed north to the junction of
the 15th sideroad and the 11th concession. The birds have been hanging out
mostly in the harvested sod field on the southeast. It’s worth checking out
the other fields in this area as well.
