Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Andrew Sturgess, Greg Norwood

Observers: Andrew Sturgess, Raburn Howland

Weather:
On a day befitting the change from summer to fall and the start of a new
counting season we had transitional weather from low to high pressure with
high winds, some light showers and finally clearing skies with moderating
winds. Our temps were thankfully cooler than has been the norm with winds
from the northern quadrant.

Raptor Observations:
Plenty of large raptors up riding the winds but not migrating. As the winds
moderated there seemed to be more movement of kestrel, harriers and
red-tailed hawks.

Non-raptor Observations:
Observed a number of common loons in flight including one group of four.

Predictions:
Clear skies and winds from the NE following turbulent weather passage might
provide good counts.
