Our temps were thankfully cooler than has been the norm with winds from the northern quadrant. Raptor Observations: Plenty of large raptors up riding the winds but not migrating. As the winds moderated there seemed to be more movement of kestrel, harriers and red-tailed hawks. Non-raptor Observations: Observed a number of common loons in flight including one group of four. Predictions: Clear skies and winds from the NE following turbulent weather passage might provide good counts. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) Detroit River Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
