Most of the turbulent weather stayed away but we were on the edge of it all day. Raptor Observations: Very few birds that seemed to be migratory. Eagles, osprey and a local red-tailed provided most of the entertainment. A peregrine falcon did make an appearance but was mostly soaring for exercise it appeared. Non-raptor Observations: The plague of biting flies continued. I fought back today with chemical warfare and the killing field around my legs was littered with the fallen. It was the Gettysburg of human/insect warfare. Predictions: The weather is mixed again tomorrow with rising barometer in the morning and falling in the afternoon with potential thunderstorms. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Detroit River Hawk Watch ([email protected]) Detroit River Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
