Weather: Too hot and no wind for the start of the day made for not much of a flight. Raptor Observations: Just 35 birds tallied for the day spread across 7 hours...ouch! Most of today's count was Sharpies (14) and A. Kestrels (17). Non-raptor Observations: Some good passerines....warblers (Blackpoll, Nashville, Magnolia, Black and White, BT Blue, Ovenbird and Wilson's) and woodpeckers (N. Flicker, Downy and Red-bellied), Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, RB Grosbeak, Wood Thrush, Cedar Waxwings, Swainson's Thrush, WB Nuthatch and Chimney Swifts. Quite a few Monarchs on the move today for those that are interested...total of 174. Predictions: Wednesday is looking wet to start though winds are forecast to be from the N which is an improvement. Thursday is look pretty good right now with lots of sunshine and NE winds. Hopefully, that forecast holds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
