Visitors:
Very few visitors for the first day of this weekends Hawk Festival.
Tomorrow is the Last Day of this years Hawk Festival! The weather is
looking much better than today's! Come on out and join us!
Weather:
Rain was on and off, though mostly on through the count period, and winds
were out of the South.
Raptor Observations:
6 Raptors were observed migrating today, 3 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 2 Merlin,
and 1 Osprey. There were several Sharp-shinned Hawks and an American
Kestrel the started to try to migrate but soon decided to turn around and
go back into shelter.
Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors were also very slow today, and no big movements were noted. For
the full, yet small, eBird checklist go to
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S31631513 No migrating insects were
seen today.
Predictions:
Tomorrow they're calling for SW winds, but likely no rain!
