Sunny and hot with light winds from the N early but shifting round to the S
and SSE. Temp to a high of 27 today and even higher with the humidex.

Raptor Observations:
Despite the not so perfect migration weather... (I know it was a beautiful
day for everyone BUT a hawkwatcher!) the birds did move and the total for
day was 1,181. The bulk of today's flight was Broadwings (1,102) along with
Osprey (4) and N. Harriers (9), a lone Bald Eagle, Sharpies (37), Cooper's
Hawk (2), A. Kestrels (25) and a single Merlin.

Non-raptor Observations:
There were some birds reported in the other species section... warblers
(Black and White, Blackpoll, Chestnut-sided, Wilson's, A. Redstart,
Magnolia and Tennessee), both Wood and Swainson's Thrush, RT Hummingbird,
Gray Catbird, BC Chickadee, RC Kinglet, RB Woodpecker, YB Sapsucker,
Eastern Wood Pewee, Red-eyed Vireo and Cedar Waxwings.

The Blue Jays were on the move again today and the total count was 8,640.

And for those who are interested in the Monarch migration there were a
couple of counts made with a total of 479...many of which were tallied
along the cliff.

With a forecast of total blue skies and still quite warm on S winds I'm not
expecting there to be much of a flight for tomorrow... though the
Broadwings are obviously moving through but likely not as far down as the
lake shore.
