Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Natalie Cypher

Observers: Andrew Sturgess, Patrick Mulawa

Visitors:
A few visitors came by today, including a couple from Florida.

Weather:
For the first few hours of the morning the area was blanketed in a soupy
fog - visibility was very poor. By early afternoon the fog lifted,
transitioning to cloudy skies, gradually becoming clear by the day's end.
Light winds were from the north.

Raptor Observations:
Once the fog lifted Sharp-shinned Hawks made a strong showing, with 228
total. Turkey Vultures also came through late in the day, with the
season's first sizeable kettles of over 100 birds, with a total of 555. A
scattering of other species included Red-tailed Hawk, Cooper's Hawk,
Kestrel, Merlin, Broad-winged Hawk, and single Peregrine.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays came through in big numbers today (4,400+), and our local
American White Pelicans put on a great show. Approximately 40 Pelicans
were seen flying over Gibraltar several times during the morning, and later,
in the water just past the tip of Celeron Island. Several Caspian and
Forster's Terns were seen hunting throughout the day.

Predictions:
Tomorrow's weather will be pleasant, with winds primarily from the SE.
