Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Dan Loncke, Kit McCann, Larry Ludwicki

Visitors:
A few visitors on the tower today. Kit M. was helping me out with the count
for a good portion of the day. Dan L. and Larry L. both came out for a
little while as well. A father-son duo came out and spent about an hour on
the tower photographing some of the migrants.

Weather:
Got out and started counting an hour later than normal due to rain. It was
a very chilly day today, and after about an hour of counting, my toes went
from freezing, to numb, and at which point, I decided to break down and
switch my sandals out for shoes. Strong North winds all day made the
temperature feel colder than it was.

Raptor Observations:
Migration started quickly with the end of the rain! First 3 hours each had
well over 100 Sharp-shinned Hawks. Ended up with a good flight of Turkey
Vultures, Sharp-shinned Hawks, Red-tailed Hawks, and Northern Harriers; 10
of which were beautiful adult males.

Non-raptor Observations:
Was a little busy with the raptors today to spend my normal amount of
effort on the non-raptors. Did note a decent flight of American Crows, with
231, and only a single Blue Jay today! For the full eBird checklist, go to
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S32143842

Predictions:
Mostly sunny skies, moderately strong NW winds, and lower than preferred
temperatures.
