Weather: Very strong winds from the SSW...always good for Peregrines along the cliff. Some sun and cloud and temp steady at 20C for the entire count period. Raptor Observations: A small flight today with a total of 71 birds. Of these most were TVs (59) as is typical in October...along with Sharpies (3) and a couple of Redtails. Highlights were definitely the Golden Eagles (2) early in the day and the Peregrines (5) which all passed within easy view of the observers. Non-raptor Observations: Not too many jays today with 280 tallied...along with Common Loon, Am. Crow and Red-bellied Woodpecker. A single Monarch on the move today. :) ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
