Yesterday, at an extremely windy and cold Presqu'ile, 1 Purple Sandpiper was seen on the southeast shore of Gull Island, which is (as Fred now calls it) a tombolo. And an immature Harlequin Duck was feeding with groups of Long-tailed Ducks around the Island and off Owen Point.
Birders can only go out to Gull Island and Owen Point on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, as there is hunting on the other days. Although, someone may stand on the beaches and look from there. >From Baxter Naday _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
