Birders,
Alan Wormington always told me that there was no such thing as winter listing.
This always confused me as he kept and had an impressive winter list! This post
is in the spirit of the winter list!
There has recently been a Lesser Yellowlegs at the Red Hill Stormwater Pond in
Hamilton. It's very late for this species. Since it may stay to December 1st
and a lot of you may have your eye on the Chatham Western Sand (great bird
Steve!), I figured a post today would help in planning a potential route for
Dec 1.
The pond can be accessed by QEW Niagara, just south of the Skyway Bridge in
Burlington. Take the Red Hill Creek expressway exit. While on the exit note a
marsh to your right. As the ramp starts to slope up, and to the right, note a
gravel road to take to the pond. Please put 4 ways on well before and keep to
the right.
There is also a Killdeer here which may stay
Good winter birding all
