Hi there, This afternoon from 3:45 - 4:30 PM, I watched gulls coming in to roost along the shoreline of the Ottawa River just east of Andrew Haydon Park, at Beltown Park. I observed five Kumlien's (four first cycle and one second cycle), three Glaucous (one adult and two first cycle) and one first cycle Thayer's among many Herring and a handful of Great Black-backed Gulls. Most of the gulls were quite close by and availing a nice, long look. I took a few photos and posted them here: http://eontbird.ca/?p=4260.
Directions: I parked at the easternmost lot at Dick Bell Park and walked through Andrew Haydon Park to Beltown Park. The shoreline where the gulls were congregating at Beltown Park is just east of the water park. Dick Bell is accessed via Carling Ave. Jon _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
