For those of you who don't receive rare bird alerts via eBird, I just wanted
to let you know that the 2 female/immature Harlequin Ducks first seen in
Kingston on 18th December were refound today. They spent a good chunk of the
day just off Portsmouth Olympic Harbour and were very tolerant of observers,
dog walkers and others. Best bet would be to park at the harbour itself,
accessed off Yonge Street and walk west along the shoreline. From about 11 -
1 they were in the area in front of the apartments or just west of the iron
bridge. Earlier in the morning they were west of this location by just a few
hundred metres in front of the Providence Care Hospital. I would suggest
starting/parking (free) at the harbour (right here: 44.217552, -76.517884)
and following the paved trail west until you find them.

Harlequin is not a common species in these parts.

Mark.
