Today there was an immature Snow Goose, a pair of Cackling Geese, and hundreds of Tundra Swans at Aylmer Wildlife Management Area in Elgin county. Some patience is required to find the Snow Goose, but the Cacklers remained close to the wheelchair accessible viewing blind. Tundra Swans were very abundant, but I suspect soon they will continue the journey north.
Other birds seen include Green-winged Teal, Black Ducks, Mallards, Common Merganser, Northern Pintail, American Wigeon, blackbirds, and a Merlin. To reach Aylmer WMA, turn off onto College Line from Imperial Dr., then follow the signs along the road.
