Highlights: Very little to report this week I'm afraid. Here are the highlights: CACKLING GOOSE - a single bird was at Outlet, Charleston Lake Provincial Park on 5th. WOOD DUCK - several widespread sightings including 1 at Napanee on 5th, 1 at Lansdowne on 8th, 2 on Wolfe Island on 8th, 6 near Millhaven on 9th, and 4 near Brewers Mills on 9th. TURKEY VULTURE - a single bird was seen south of Sydenham on 4th. GOLDEN EAGLE - an immature bird was seen north of Brewers Mills on 4th. SANDHILL CRANE - a lone fly-over was noted at Inverary on 10th. TUFTED TITMOUSE - the Gananoque bird was seen, after an absence of a week or so on 4th, 7th, and 10th. NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD - the long-staying Kingston bird was seen on 8th. In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the KFN Sensitive Sightings Policy <http://kingstonfieldnaturalists.org/birding/KFN_sensitive_sightings_policy. pdf> . Also note that, as requested by the landowners, sightings of owls at the privately-owned Owl Woods must not be shared on the Internet (this includes posting as 'Amherst Island' on eBird) by KFN or anyone who visits. To ensure continued access to this location, please respect their wishes and follow the guidelines posted on-site. To maintain records for conservation purposes, sightings from that location are welcomed through all the traditional channels. As always, a big thank you goes to all who have submitted sightings over the last week. Mark. Mark D.
