Had 6 Greater Whte-fronted Geese and 6 Snow Geese near the Everett Gravel Pits,
west of Alliston today at noon. They are hanging out with large numbers of
Canada Geese. There are a few Cackling Geese among them.

To get there, go west on Highway 89 from Alliston. At the 4th concession turn
right (north). Drive to the next intersection. Turn left (west) onto the 5th
sideroad. The pit is on the right. The Geese were foraging in the fields on
both side of the road before you get to the pit. Directly north of this spot
is another pit that still has some open water in it. you can view it from the
4th concession. The birds alternate between here and the fields. Given the
current weather, there probably won’t be any open water by tomorrow.
