Hi all, A female King Eider was just off the south shore of Amherst Island this morning (9am) and was still present at 2pm this afternoon. She was actively feeding most of the time, but also preening, 2-5m from shore across the street from 3950 South Shore road. She was alone and spent most time near the little point just west of the house, but also went around the corner out of view. Directions below.
with best wishes, Paul Directions: Catch the ferry to Amherst Island at Millhaven ($9). Exit the ferry and continue straight at the stop sign on Stella 40 foot rd. Follow Stella 40 ft to its end and turn left (east) onto South Shore Rd. The road will turn left, then right just before 3950 South Shore. Look right in the area of the point, close to shore. **************************************************** Paul R.
