Hello:

My experience was that seeing this shrike is not so easy. It is a small
bird a long ways off when it is perched. Much farther than 200 metres when
we saw him at twilight yesterday.
If you stand at the culverts just south of Green Mountain (not the ones
closer to Mud St.) and face East you will see a sparse hedgerow with a farm
behind it.
The farm looks close to the hedgerow but this is a illusion due to
magnification. The farm is actually twice again as far away as the hedgerow
is.
If you look out at about 45 degrees to the SE, you see a barn with a orange
roof. The shrike was perched to the right of that barn. (but much lower
and closer)

If those directions are confusing, stand at the culverts, face east and
look down to the soft ground. I made a bootmark in the soft soil pointing
towards the orange barn.
Thanks to Dennis Lewington's friend who found the bird for me by scoping
the entire length of the hedgerow. Dennis made a kind introduction, but
my ears were getting blasted by the freezing wind and I missed his name.
