Birders,
I just wanted to clarify my earlier posting today. I felt bad as the day wore
on that I didn't give the original finder (Samantha Dundas) the excellent
credit she deserved and also- I did not give good directions, I had found the
bird by using the ebird pinpoint with my phones GPS. Truth be told, I simply
did not know the closest intersecting road with Wyandotte at the time I was
writing the post (Riverdale and Wyandotte).
GPS coordinate for the Wetland where the birds
where:https://www.google.ca/maps/place/42%C2%B019'51.4%22N+82%C2%B055'14.0%22W/@42.3309419,-82.9227347,676m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d42.330938!4d-82.920546

PARKING:  If you plan to go, I would recommend that the official parking for
Ganatchio trail is at the corner of Riverside Drive East and Florence Ave.
https://www.google.ca/maps/place/42%C2%B020'17.8%22N+82%C2%B055'13.5%22W/@42.3382699,-82.9226057,676m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d42.338266!4d-82.920417

If you park in that parking lot, you would follow the gantchio trail pathway
about 1km South. You would be walking away from the Detroit River "Inland". You
would walk through a pedestrian tunnel that goes under Wyandotte st, then as
you emerge from that tunnel on the other side, a man-made wetland will be on
the left side of the path. The seven Stilts were in the middle of that wetland
on the mudflats.
Technically speaking if you can find the corner of Riverdale and Wyandotte,
there is a bridge to the east of that intersection, and if you cross that
bridge and drive East about 300 meters, you would see the wetland on the right
side of the road. This is where I parked, but I don't want to encourage anyone
to park where you may get a ticket.
I've posted a map on my blog at this
link:http://dwaynejava.blogspot.com/2017/04/black-necked-stilts-at-windsors.html

Also, I will try to post at 7am if the birds are there or not on (Easter)
Sunday Morning.
Thanks,Dwayne Murphy

Sincerely,

Dwayne Murphy"Carpe Diem"
