Bird activity and variety continues to increase in the park. 

Both Tilden and Woodland Nature Trail had lots of birds singing including 
RED-EYED VIREOS, TENNESSEE WARBLERS, NORTHERN PARULAS, BLACK-THROATED BLUE 
WARBLERS, BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLERS and BLACKBURNIAN 
WARBLERS. About 25 species of warbler have been reported.

An OLIVE-SIDED and ACADIAN FLYCATCHER were observed in Tilden Woods. Many other 
flycatchers were also noted, mostly LEAST but a few TRAIL'S types.

PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS were again observed along the Woodland Nature Trail at 
Bridges A and F and a singing GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER played hide and seek to a 
large crowd along Shuster Trail. 

Further along the Shuster Trail, near the east end, a VIRGINIA RAIL was heard 
calling, a LEAST BITTERN was observed flying across the trail, and a female 
SUMMER TANAGER was reported near the East Beach.

A CLAY-COLOURED SPARROW was found north of the Sparrow Field along the Post 
woods  trail. 

A female BLUE GROSBEAK was reported from the Tip area 100 metres south in the 
rocks along the west side at about 8:30. No further reports of it have come in. 
A female SUMMER TANAGER was also noted at the Tip.

A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was found at the Cactus Field. 

A HOODED WARBLER was found 200 metres south of the Halfway Tram stop along the 
road.

TUFTED TITMOUSE have been reported at the Tip and along the road north of the 
Halfway Tram stop.
