I just returned from a walk on the Bronte pier and did not see the Piping
Plover that was so co-operative yesterday. Photo on Flickr:

A flock of about 30 Whimbrel flew overhead towards Toronto and 4 Dunlin flew
by, also towards Toronto. There were about a dozen Bonaparte’s Gulls on the
west pier along with Common and Caspian Terns.

There are two tires out for nesting Red-necked Grebes. One tire had a bird
sitting on it the other did not. There are nesting Cliff and Barn Swallows.

Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Road and go to the lake. The area is served
by Oakville Transit route 3 from the Bronte GO Train station and route 14 from
the Appleby and Oakville stations.

Caution tape is in place because of high water. On Saturday strong east wind
were pushing water over the pier. It was no problem today but that can change.
