I observed an adult Yellow-crowned Night-Heron at 7 pm. tonight at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area (aka the Back Pond) 4649 Debruge Rd. From the 401 Hwy. take the Hwy. 29 exit into Brockville. Proceed north on Hwy. 29 aka Stewart Blvd. about 5 minutes to Tincap. There is a restaurant and set of lights. Turn right. Follow Debruge Rd.about 3 or 4 minutes to the MJWA sign on the right. Follow the road in to the main parking lot. The bird was feeding heavily in the fields and can be seen from the lot. Please note the Area is only open from dawn until dusk and dogs are to be leashed at all times. Good luck. Brenda Evers
