Hi Ontario birders, I apologize for my delay in posting. I was so tired last night after Brockville that I needed to make my way through Toronto as soon as possible. I aimed to write this email then get some sleep when I did eventually stop, and by the time I woke up this morning I knew I had accomplished one of those two things.
Last night (June 16) at 8:40 pm I spotted the Brockville area Yellow-crowned Night-Heron flying low in a southward direction toward the nearby town of Tincap. It disappeared into some trees (around 44.6261, -75.7578) shortly after I got my binoculars on it. This location is less than 2km west of the spot it was seen yesterday at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, and about 1km straight north from the centre of Tincap. I saw the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron from Airport Rd. next to Tincap Golf Club. The town of Tincap is northwest of Brockville along County Rd 29. Good luck to anyone looking for it! Hopefully it gets comfortable at one viewable location. Good birding!
