Yesterday I spoke to Wayne (a gentleman who lives near Janetville) and he
was telling me about a Red-Bellied Woodpecker family (2 adults and 1
offspring) who had been eating oranges and grapefruit from the deck railing
at his home in the Highway 35 and Fleetwood Road area. The oranges had
originally been put out for the Oriole but they only passed through. The
Red-Bellied Woodpecker showed up so they continued with the oranges and
added grapefruit. The Woodpeckers enjoyed the offerings.
