This evening (Aug 20) I observed 5 great white egrets roosting on the east side of the weir canal in Port Colborne. These birds are best seen at dusk from the west side of the weir and are there most evenings. Walking directions: from the corner of Killally West and King St in Port Colborne go east about 75 metres. At the train tracks turn North(left) and follow the path that is parallel to the tracks for about 120 metres. The egrets should be on your right across the water from your location. Good birding!
