Yesterday evening when I approached Ron Tozer on Beach 3, he had just recently found an adult Marbled Godwit. I first viewed it feeding towards Owen Point from Beach 3, at the "No Access beyond this point" sign on the shore. Sometimes it would hide in the willows along the beach and at one point it flew past a group of us towards Beach 2, only to land again at Beach 3.
However I haven't heard yet if it has been seen this morning. The shorebirds otherwise have been good recently, they seem to change hourly. With reports of Red Knot, Dunlin, Ruddy Turnstone and Wilson's Phalarope. Warblers are picking up as well, 2 birders had a brief encounter with a female Cerulean Warbler just yesterday. If you do decide to visit Presqu'ile's beach, park at Beach 2 and look towards Beach 3. It's no fun walking in at Beach 3. >From Baxter Naday _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
