The juvenile Long-billed Dowitcher found by Mike Tate, Michelle Martin and Paul Martin continues at the Strandherd Road Storm Sewer. Regarding lighting, morning light is best when approaching from the Home Depot parking lot side; late afternoon light is best on the opposite side of the bank. Parking for late afternoon viewing is available along Waterlilly Way/Haydon Circle. A wonderful study awaits those visiting the site as the dowitcher is at most only 20 m from shore!
Directions: The storm sewer is accessed off of Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven. Parking is available in the western most parking area of the Home Depot. Walk 20 meters to the west to view the shorebirds Good birding! -- Jon Ruddy Eastern Ontario Birding eontbird.ca Cell: 1-613-558-6821 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
