Weather: Much to my surprise, we didn't get any rain on the tower today! South and southwesterly winds throughout the day, with many threatening clouds to our east and west, but none above us! Raptor Observations: Not a single raptor was counted during the first nor last hours of the count today. Today was quite a good day for Peregrines though with 7. Non-raptor Observations: There were 3800 Blue Jays counted today migrating past the tower, along with approximately 400 Tree Swallows. For the full eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39555783 A couple Monarchs and saddlebags around today, but I didn't notice any migrating. Predictions: Sunny skies and westerly winds predicted for tomorrow. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sean Jenniskens ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
