Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Bob Hall-Brooks, Carol Pitts, Ed Pitts, Jim McCoy

Visitors:
A good number of people came out to enjoy the beautiful summery weather
(crappy hawking weather).

Weather:
Southwesterly winds in the morning, switching to variable southerly winds
in the afternoon. Mostly clear skies but a hazy cloud showed up to the
north for the later half of the count.

Raptor Observations:
Another decent count of both Turkey Vultures (1916) and Sharpies (129). A
good movement of Red-tails (43) considering the winds, and yet another
Roughie!!?

Non-raptor Observations:
Today's Blue Jay count was 1550. 32 Horned Larks, 63 Am. Pipits, and 82
Cedar Waxwings were counted migrating. It was a pretty good day for
migrating finches, with 5 species being counted, including the first Common
Redpoll of the season (not likely to be many more this year). Also our 2nd
Purple Finch, a total of 82 Pine Siskins, and 75 Am. Goldfinches. Full
eBird checklist here:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S40020133?share=true 4 more Monarchs
counted today.

Predictions:
It's supposed to be west and northwest winds overnight, though
unfortunately it will be back to the south by morning. Also more clear
skies.
