Weather: A cold, damp, windy day. Rain off and on for the morning, and again around 3pm local time - ending the count. Strong south and southwest winds all day. Raptor Observations: A bit of a Turkey Vulture flight was somewhat surprising in the strong southwest winds. Not a lot else seemed interested in flying. Non-raptor Observations: 795 Tree Swallows were counted fighting the winds and heading west. Full ebird checklist here: https://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S40107280 Predictions: Chance of rain again tomorrow though mainly in the morning, winds predicted to be fairly strong still but out of the west. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Sean Jenniskens ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ More site information at hawkcount.org: http://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=100 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
