Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 14:30:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Sean Jenniskens

Observers: Michael Williamson

Visitors:
Mike joined my for most of the day. Jim McCoy showed up briefly with his
wife, but they didn't brave the cold too long.

Weather:
Very strong and chilly southwesterly winds with dense cloudy skies. The
weather man said it felt like 0°C (32°F), but it was clear that he wasn't
on the tower as it certainly felt colder than that. We moved down to the
second level around 11am local time to escape from a brief smattering of
rain, and stayed down for the rest of the day harboring from the winds.

Raptor Observations:
Two light Roughies were the first non-Turkey Vultures of the day. Quite a
good flight for Vultures in the morning, with 925 being counted in the
first hour. The flight was pretty much dead at noon, with only 52 Vultures
and 11 other raptors being counted in the last 3.5 hours.

Non-raptor Observations:
44 Tree Swallows were counted flying west. Two flocks of Cedar Waxwings
went by, totaling 55 birds. Full eBird checklist follows:

Predictions:
Strong west winds tomorrow, with a chance of snow/rain in the morning.
