Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Chris Burris

Observers: Dave Verkley, Jim Landau, Karen Landau, Keith Sealy,
Mac McAlpine, Mary Carnahan, Matt Oswald,
                  Richard Skevington, Ronnie Goodhand

Visitors:
A big thanks to everyone that helped with today's count and to all the
visitors that made it down and helped with spotting the birds.

Weather:
Winds were NNW to NW all day. We began with complete cloud cover and ended
with around 40%. Temp hovered around 5C to 6C.

Raptor Observations:
Lower numbers with a total of 492, but still decent variety with 10
species. Nice highlight was (as expected) 19 Golden Eagles for the day,
with 6 visible at
once during the 1100 o’clock hour. All in all a nice movement of birds.

Non-raptor Observations:
Lots, even without searching the woodlots. Hairy Woodpecker, Hairy
Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Golden and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Black-capped Chickadee, Dark-eyed Junco, American Goldfinch,
Whitethroated
Sparrow, Cedar Waxwing, Common Grackle, Pine Siskin, Wood Duck,
Red-winged Blackbird, Rusty Blackbird, Eastern Bluebird, American Pipit,
American Robin, Brown Creeper, Tundra Swan (30), and Common Raven (2).

Predictions:
I'd expect a similar flight tomorrow on predicted NE winds thought they'll
be a bit lighter. This will be the 2nd day in a row with northerly winds
across the entire region which often results in a good flight of birds.
Fingers crossed for those that venture out to the site for Tuesday.
