Visitors:
Many on the tower to see what the north winds would bring! I think everyone
was happy with the number of birds, despite many being as high as they
were.
Weather:
Wind was variable in strength but almost due north all day. Full
cloud-cover for the first few hours, but we had some blue for the rest of
the day.
Raptor Observations:
An excellent day for both Eagles and Red-tails, and the first day recently
where Vultures weren't in the top spot! An amazing count of 980 Red-tailed
Hawks today (majority were specs but still an amazing sight). 105
Red-shoulders (hard to pick out at times, but we managed!). 3 Each of
Rough-legged and Peregrine. And a Grand total of 53 Eagles! 30 Balds, and
23 Goldens! Between 4pm, and 4:30pm, 6 Bald and 8 Golden were counted! You
could just follow one across the horizon, then when you scanned back there
would be another just starting to move across again!
Non-raptor Observations:
A good number of Tundra Swans were observed today, with at least 120 being
seen. 1130 Blue Jays were counted, and at least 66 Eastern Bluebirds. Full
eBird checklist here:

Predictions:
Partial cloud with moderate northerly winds again! Hopefully another good
day!
