Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintains records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders using eBird are encouraged to share their
sightings with 'Kingston FN'. Alternatively, please email or post records
directly to me - contact details below. Please note that some sightings may
require review and remain unconfirmed unless stated otherwise.

 

Highlights:

The Owl Woods (Amherst Island) are currently closed for hunting (20th Nov -
10th Dec). Here are the brief highlights of the last week:

 

KING EIDER - somewhat out of the area, the immature male continues to be
seen at Wellington, Prince Edward County.

BLACK VULTURE - the surprise of the week was a single bird seen at Lemoine
Point CA, Kingston, on 29th.

SANDHILL CRANE - 7 birds were seen near Crosby on 27th, with another near
Murvale on 29th.

SNOWY OWL - up to 4 birds are now present on Amherst Island, with a couple
also on Wolfe Island.

TUFTED TITMOUSE - a single bird was seen on Amherst Island on 1st.

NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD - a continuing bird was seen on Amherst Island today
(1st).

AMERICAN PIPIT - 2 birds were still present on Amherst Island on 28th.

EASTERN MEADOWLARK - 2 birds were seen on Amherst Island on 28th.
