A male Northern Shoveller is at the Monahan Stormwater Ponds in south Kanata.
Michael Olsen Directions: 1. Go to Ottawa. 2. Take Hwy. 417 west to Exit 138 (Eagleson Road/March Road). 3. After taking Exit 138, turn left onto Eagleson Road. 4. Go about 6 km south to Emerald Meadows Drive. (If you reach Terry Fox Road, you've gone too far.) 5. Turn left onto Emerald Meadows Drive. 6. Go 100 m and park on the side of the street. 7. The bird is at the far end of the big pond on your right, with a small group of Mallards.
