I found a Purple Sandpiper at Colonel Samuel Smith Park late this afternoon. It was feeding along the south shore, about 100 metres west of Whimbrel Point. There is heavy ice cover on the shoreline, so there aren't a lot of exposed rocks.
No luck with the Tufted Duck, but I could see a large flock of Scaup over near Cliff Lumsden Park. Colonel Samuel Smith Park is at the south end of Kipling Avenue. Follow Kipling south of Lake Shore Blvd W (Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive) until the road ends.
