Highlights: Below average temperatures have continued this week, with predominately northerly winds meaning 'not much' in the way of new arrivals. Here are the highlights of the last week: SNOW GOOSE - A grand total of 4 birds were seen this week, all on Wolfe Island on 10th. CACKLING GOOSE - a single bird was seen on the Cressy Peninsula, Prince Edward County on 15th. GOLDEN EAGLE - a late report of an adult bird near Seeley's Bay on 9th. TURKEY VULTURE - just one bird, seen at Violet Dump on 15th, was seen this week. SNOWY OWL - birds continue on Wolfe and Amherst Islands where turnover appears to be high. A new winter high of 46 birds was made on Wolfe on 12th. All farmland on both islands is private - please no trespassing. PEREGRINE FALCON - a poor week with only 1 sighting, of a single bird in downtown Kingston on 12th. CAROLINA WREN - a continuing bird was seen along the Thousand Island parkway, at Halstead Bay on 15th. EASTERN MEADOWLARK - two birds were seen on Wolfe Island on 11th. In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the KFN Sensitive Sightings Policy <http://kingstonfieldnaturalists.org/birding/KFN_sensitive_sightings_policy. pdf> .
