Just past the VC, walk the sandy path to the beach Lookout. The Neo was
straight out from the path, bobbing in the calm closer waters. The bird was
very dainty in build (short and thin bill, small skull, thin neck); had a
dark face (I couldn’t detect any orange as in DCCO); and the clincher was a
very long tail resting on the water behind its lower back. When it dove,
the long tail was also visible. I can’t for certain age it at this point
but thoughts are it’s possibly an immature (I couldn’t for certain detect
the white border to the base of the bill).
