First, apologies - I sent this yesterday on my partner's phone and it obviously didn't make it through.
Around 6 p.m. Tuesday we found a SUMMER TANAGER - adult male in the valley between Colborne Lodge and the Children's Garden. It was in the oaks by the road and part of the time on the remnant, rotting oak on the south slope. It wasn't singing and was moving in an eastish direction. Great views and great bird. Forget parking - the cherry blossoms are out. I would pump up your bike tires. Try parking in the neighbourhood to the southeast of Parkside Drive and scan/listen as you walk to Colborne. Good luck. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
