Festival of Flight May 9th Afternoon Report

Overall a great day here at Rondeau despite it being fairly slow this
afternoon. Pony Barn as well as the Marsh Trail area including Water St have
been the hub of bird activity for the day.

The Kentucky Warbler was re-found today at the beginning of Harrison Trail near
the Pony Barn later this morning. A Summer Tanager has been showing well on
Water St. Also two White-eyed Vireos have been seen regularly and giving great
views just off of the trail at the Log Pond behind the Pony Barn. An Eastern
Whip-poor-will was found roosting in a Tulip Tree this afternoon on Tulip Tree
Trail near the Prothontary Warbler spot.

A morning hike is scheduled tomorrow morning at 7:30 for a fee of $10. Meet at
the Visitor Centre if you would like to participate.

Join us from May 1st until the 20th for the Festival of Flight!

Hike Leader: Peter Simons
