Festival of Flight May 20th Final Report

Pony Barn and the beginning of Harrison Trail, as well as South Point are the
best spots for bird activity this morning.
16 species of warblers were seen in that area, along with 70 other species
recorded. South Point was spectacular this morning with 22 species of warblers
including Mourning, Canada, Orange-crowned, Prothonotary, and Pine.

Most other trails are fairly quiet with the exception of Water St south of the
Marsh Trail parking lot.

It is also worth noting that a large number of Wilson’s Warblers, and Tennessee
Warblers are moving through the park.

Today is our last day of the Festival of Flight! It’s been an interesting
migration with diversity and numbers. Over 218 species have been recorded over
the past 20 days in both the park boundary and Blenheim Sewage Lagoons. Thank
you to all who came out and participated! Good luck with the rest of the
birding year, see you next spring.
