Seen at the central swamps near the new boardwalk at Laurier Woods by 5 birders
on Tuesday at 11:00AM. Should probably be staying around!
Very unusual bird for North Bay area. American Bittern may be nearby.
Laurier Woods can be found by turning left (west ) at the first
stop-light when arriving from the south at North Bay (just 3 1/2 unimpeded
miles from Toronto.) Travel along the road past Hortons 1/4 mile to Brule St.
Turn left (again) to the end where is the preserve’s parking lot. Check
brochures to clarify trails to central boardwalk.
