Visitors:
This was the first day of our 2018 Hawk Festival. We had many folks
visiting the area enjoying the nature walks, bird demonstrations, hawk
identification, photography discussions, vendors, and bird adoptions.
Sunday will be a wonderful day to come out and enjoy similar activities.
Thanks to all the volunteers, hotdog cooks, food servers, and vendors of
many stripes.
Weather:
Very HOT on the Tower and muggy all over.
Wind was NE early and ended South.
Raptor Observations:
Broad-wings finally were above 1,000 followers by Sharp-shinneds and
Kestrels.
Non-raptor Observations:
Common Tern-2, Kingfisher-1, Blue Jay-1,248, Cedar Waxwing-3, House
finch-20, Goldfinch-100, Red-winged blackbird-5.
Monarch Butterfly-777.
Predictions:
Same weather as today with more hawks to observe.
Remember 9 am to 3 pm. Come one and all.
