Ontbirds subscribers,

While scoping the lake for loons or grebes, I just had a Cattle Egret fly east
to west across the bay off Thickson's Woods until I watched it fly over
Thickson Point and out of sight to the west. This is the second time that I
have seen Cattle Egret here as a spring migrant, the first occurring on April
24, 2011.

Thickson Bay is found at the southern terminus of Thickson Road South about 2
km. south after exiting at exit 412 from Hwy 401 in Whitby. The best views of
birds in the bay are from Thickson Point itself, which juts out into the lake
along the Waterfront Trail just to the west of Thickson Road South.
