Ontbirds subscribers,

The Hermit Warbler has not, to my knowledge, been relocated by anyone since my
last update when I had seen it this morning.

Many people have been searching, and although similar numbers of Yellow-rumped
Warblers are present today, I have had no luck this afternoon in relocating the
Hermit Warbler.

Conditions are not ideal; there is a brisk wind that has been persistent all
day and in the past hour there has been a mix of drizzle and sleet falling on
and off. Perhaps the bird has merely widened it wanderings in such conditions -
it is hard to say.

I will update again if the bird is relocated or if it comes again to roost for
the evening again in the tall cedar beside my house.

Thickson's Woods is reached by taking Hwy 401 to exit 412 and going south on
Thickson Road South and parking at or near its southern terminus. Walk further
down the road that continues further south to the lake until you reach the
private road called Crystal Beach Boulevard (you may walk in on this road, but
do not drive in on this gravel road - it is a private road). The woods can be
entered on the three roadways running north to the woods between the private
property of the area homes.
