Another fine day in the Park. Of note KENTUCKY, PRAIRIE and PROTHONOTARY
WARBLERS have turned up. Details below.
The southerly wind resulted in a reverse movement at the Tip. Of the many
species involved there were a few sightings of RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, SCARLET
TANAGER, ORCHARD and BALTIMORE ORIOLES, and INDIGO BUNTING.
Off the Tip a RED-THROATED LOON was noted and a few HORNED GREBE.
A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW is being seen well near the south end of the West Beach
Parking Lot.
The YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT is still at Northwest Beach, just north of the parking
lot.
There was a HOODED WARBLER seen north of the intersection of Chinquapin Trail
and Tilden Wood.
A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported from the westerly seasonal trail in Tilden
Woods near where the old boardwalk was located.
A SUMMER TANAGER was reported from the Woodland Trail between bridge A and B.
Also noted there was a KENTUCKY WARBLER in that area.
A PRAIRIE WARBLER was noted beside a cooperative couple of PROTHONOTARY
WARBLERS close to bridge F on the Woodland Nature Trail.
