Highlights: Things have been rather quiet this week though, believe it or not, the first returning shorebirds have already been sighted. Here are the highlights of the last week: DUNLIN - a single bird (likely an injured individual) was seen at Martin Edwards Reserve, Amherst Island, on 30th and 5th. SOLITARY SANDPIPER - the first returning bird of the season was seen at Wilton Creek, Morven, on 29th. GREATER YELLOWLEGS - early return migrants were seen at Wilton Creek, Morven, on 29th and 30th with another at Martin Edwards Reserve, Amherst Island, on 5th. WILSON'S PHALAROPE - 2 birds were reported at the known breeding location of Martin Edwards Reserve, Amherst Island, on 30th and 5th. LEAST BITTERN - singles were noted near Murvale on 30th and at Moscow Marsh on 5th. LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE - there was just sighting this week of an individual at Napanee Limestone Plain IBA on 5th. ORCHARD ORIOLE - a single bird was seen at Lemoine Point CA, Kingston, on 30th. CERULEAN WARBLER - with birds long-since established on territories, only one report came in this week of a single bird at Frontenac Provincial Park on 3rd.
