The Presqu'ile Willet was still present at about 4:30 pm today (August 19). To the south of Beach 2 the beach effectively ends, as the water comes right up to the dense swath of willows, rushes, grasses, etc. that would be to the east of the beach at lower water levels. Between this swath of willows, etc. and the next one east there is a wet, muddy swale with a pond towards the south end; today the bird was at this pond. I walked south from Beach 1, but the Beach 2 parking lot would be closer. The Beach 3 gate is closed, but I think one could park at the gate and find a way to the swale. I recommend rubber boots. JohnDirections: Presqu’ile Provincial Park is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario, just south of the town of Brighton. It can be reached from either Hwy. 401, or County Road 2 and is well signed.
