Highlights:

There were further signs of warbler migration this week but shorebird
habitat is in short supply this year with correspondingly poor numbers.
Banding (and birding) has been fairly slow at Prince Edward Point but 30
COMMON NIGHTHAWKS passed through on 7th, with BAY-BREASTED WARBLER and
NORTHERN PARULA numbers picking up by the end of the week. Here are the
highlights of the last week:

SANDHILL CRANE - 2 birds were seen on Florida Road, Murvale, on 11th.

YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER - it has been a slow season for this species with
just 1 report this week of an individual at Prince Edward Point on 7th.

SWAINSON'S THRUSH - very few records so far, with 3 at Prince Edward Point
on 8th and 1 near Bedford on 13th.

WORM-EATING WARBLER - a report of a single bird, seen on Garden Island on
7th, has been submitted to the Kingston Rare Bird Committee.

GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER - a 'late' bird was seen near Verona on 8th.

ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER - the first of the season was seen near Bedford on
13th.

In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording
area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the KFN Sensitive Sightings
Policy
<http://kingstonfieldnaturalists.org/birding/KFN_sensitive_sightings_policy.
pdf> . Please note that you must be a card-carrying member of Kingston Field
Naturalists (KFN), or be accompanied by a member, to access both the Martin
Edwards Reserve and Amherstview Sewage Lagoons.

As always, a big thank you goes to all those who have submitted sightings
directly or via eBird.

Mark.
