Visitors:
Many of our regulars were out to the tower today along with many local
families enjoying the nice weather. Thanks to Cramer, John & Lisa from IN,
Scott & Rochelle from Windsor, as well ad, Richard & Kim from Toronto.
In the afternoon we had first time visitors from Lansing MI, Barb & Yogi
who graciously adopted the hatch year Red-shouldered Hawk that was brought
up to the tower. We hope to see all of you again in the near future.
Weather:
Partly sunny skies with very light southerly winds. Temperatures started
this morning at 13 C and rose to 17 C at one point in the afternoon when we
saw the most sunshine. A beautiful day for the people enjoying the park.
Raptor Observations:
A very slow start to the day did build in numbers later in the morning and
early afternoon. The Resident Bald Eagles were visible this morning, and
the local Osprey both immature and adult were once again present in the
marsh. Turkey Vultures continue to move this afternoon with a total of
992. Northern Harriers made a showing of 11 birds, and Sharp=shinned hawks
are still pushing through. Very few Buteos today.
Non-raptor Observations:
Murmurations of European Starlings-10,300 kept us entertained today between
hawks migrating. We had some continued movement of Blue Jays, though their
numbers were quite low-630. American Crows were on the move with 774
crossing through today. Mixed Blackbird flocks are moving through as well,
and those that stopped in the trees around the tower we found a total of 29
Rusty Blackbirds among the Red-winged Blackbirds. There was some variety
of ducks in the marsh.

Predictions:
Mild temperatures continue with winds from the SE, but we see a 60% chance
of showers.
